First Community Meal a Success. Thank you to the 22 disciples who gave their time and talent to serve 55 fish dinners to those in need successfully. Each dinner contained two pieces of baked cod, coleslaw, and a roll. Because the event was Ash Wednesday, a small envelope of ashes, a Stations of the Cross card, and an Invitation to Holy Week and Easter Celebrations was included. The event went smoothly, a bit slow as helpers showed up. Then the pace picked up when the food was cooked. All the meals were served between 5-5:30. It was freezing for those who braved the cold, very warm in the kitchen and just right in the meal assembly area. We serve 55 meals. St. John of the Cross Community Meals will be every third Wednesday of each month. The next community meal is March 17th. Corn beef will be on the menu. Thank you once again to those disciples who offered their time.
